About The Role The IT Infrastructure Engineer is a pivotal member of the IT team, responsible for architecting, implementing, and maintaining robust, secure, and scalable infrastructure services across Prospera Credit Union's enterprise environments.

Expectations and Responsibilities

Design, deploy, administer, patch, and harden Windows Server environments, ensuring optimal security, performance, and reliability

Administer, maintain, and harden Linux servers including patching, performance tuning, and troubleshooting production issues

Architect and administer VMware vSphere infrastructure

Engineer and manage enterprise storage systems (HPE Nimble), including provisioning, zoning, replication, snapshots, tiering, and performance tuning

Administer and support enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam), including offsite replication and recovery testing

Microsoft Azure Administration & Recovery Services

Basic knowledge of network support, including L2/L3 switching (Palo Alto, Cisco, HP), VLANs, subnetting, trunking, routing, and spanning tree.

Wireless Controller administration and Wi‑Fi network support

SSL Certificate administration

VOIP Support (Ring Central) liaison with Ring Central Support as needed

Conduct capacity planning and performance analysis for servers, storage, and networks, ensuring optimal system health and uptime

Maintain detailed infrastructure documentation, including system architecture, recovery procedures, runbooks, and change control

Serve as the senior escalation point for complex L2/L3 infrastructure incidents, working with vendors and cross‑functional teams

Assist in lifecycle management of datacenter assets from provisioning and imaging to decommissioning and secure disposal

Participate in IT projects and lead infrastructure‑related workstreams across multiple sites

Participate in the on‑call rotation for IT support needs

Qualifications & Skills

5+ years IT infrastructure engineer experience with a proven track record of delivering results while implementing infrastructure initiatives in a complex, fast‑paced environment.

3+ years in-depth technical experience as follows:

Windows Server Administration

Microsoft On Prem AD and Azure AD

VMWare vSphere

Basic Networking

Microsoft Azure Administration

SQL Server (or other databases)

Veeam Backup & Recovery (or similar solutions)

Security Infrastructure

Performance Monitoring

(Linux server Administration a plus)

Bachelor's or Technical School degree in computer science or business with an emphasis in information technology (or related field) or equivalent work experience.

Certifications in relevant technical areas are preferred (Microsoft Certified: Azure Administration or Solutions Architect Expert, VMware Certified – VCP‑DCV, CCNE/CCNP, RHCE, VMCE)
