Ohio Department of Medicaid
Overview
The Ohio Department of Medicaid is seeking an experienced auditor to be a part of our Long‑Term Care Audits Section. The Long‑Term Care Audits Section is part of the Bureau of Program Integrity that focuses on fraud, waste and abuse related activities in the Managed Care setting. This position is in Franklin County and may require travel to Managed Care plan and provider sites.
Responsibilities
Act as an audit team lead
Prepare audit scope, objectives, and audit programs
Execute audits of Managed Care Plans and their provider networks by understanding the policies, processes, internal controls, contractual agreements and federal and state Medicaid regulations
Document audit tests, complete audit work papers, accurately identify audit issues, maintain appropriate documentation, prepare and present reports on audit findings and provide recommendations
Perform peer review of work papers of equal or lower‑level staff, prepare review notes and discuss with staff, and verify that review notes are clear
Handle confidential records and information
Coordinate with bureau data analytics staff and systems
Work closely and communicate effectively with ODM staff, team members, and managers
Qualifications
Completion of undergraduate core coursework in accounting, business administration, computer science or related field
3 years of experience in auditing or accounting which must have included 18 months of auditing experience in accordance with auditing standards or prescribed management policies & procedures;
12 months of experience as audit team lead or auditor in charge.
Or 5 years of experience in auditing or accounting, which must have included 30 months of auditing experience.
Or 12 months experience as External Auditor 2, 66462.
Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
