Senior Engineering Manager – Platform Infrastructure
Collibra’s Platform Infrastructure Team is looking for a seasoned Senior Engineering Manager to lead and scale a highly skilled team responsible for building, optimizing, and maintaining infrastructure that powers Collibra production and developer environments at scale. The role focuses on virtualized and containerized environments (primarily Kubernetes), core messaging and eventing tools like RabbitMQ, and shared platform services such as Elasticsearch.
Responsibilities
Provide architectural leadership for large-scale, distributed systems, ensuring infrastructure is scalable, reliable, and cost-effective.
Drive design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of cloud-based infrastructure with emphasis on containers (Kubernetes) and virtual machine environments.
Lead design and implementation of cloud networking solutions for production and development environments, ensuring scalability, high availability, and security across multi‑cloud and hybrid environments.
Drive adoption of GitOps practices across infrastructure and development teams, using ArgoCD to automate Kubernetes application deployment and infrastructure provisioning.
Architect and manage messaging and eventing systems (e.g., RabbitMQ, Pulsar) to enable robust, scalable communication across microservices and distributed applications.
Qualifications
7+ years in engineering, with at least 3+ years in a leadership or management role overseeing infrastructure, SRE, cloud platforms, and DevOps practices.
Proven expertise in managing large-scale, distributed infrastructure systems, including containerized environments (primarily Kubernetes), virtual machines, and cloud services (AWS, GCP).
Deep experience with cloud networking, including VPCs, DNS, routing, security groups, VPNs, load balancing, and inter‑cloud connectivity; experience with Istio and service mesh technologies (traffic management, observability, mTLS, security features).
Proficiency in infrastructure automation and configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
Experience with ArgoCD and GitOps principles for automating Kubernetes‑based deployments and managing infrastructure as code (IaC).
Deep experience with messaging and event‑driven architectures, including tools like RabbitMQ, Apache Pulsar, or similar.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience is required.
Position not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Because this role supports the US government, candidate must be a US citizen residing on US soil.

Compensation The standard base salary range for this position is $184,000.00 – $230,000.00 per year. This position is not eligible for additional commission‑based compensation. Salary offers are based on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, experience, skills, and location.
