POSITION PURPOSE Responsible for directing and administering the operational efforts of the branch. Ensures that established policies and procedures are followed, oversees provision of a full range of services to customers and prospective customers, and ensures that customers are promptly and professionally served. Trains, directs, and supervises branch staff, maintains branch transaction quotas, loan volumes, expenses, and profitability in line with bank standards, and evaluates commercial loan requests. Provides general bank information, cross‑sells services, and maintains strategic relationships with clients.

Essential Functions And Basic Duties

Assume responsibility for the effective and efficient performance of branch operations.

Supervise work scheduling, workflow of daily routine operations, and branch security.

Open and close the building following established hours and test security equipment quarterly.

Ensure operations are conducted in accordance with bank policies and legal/regulatory requirements.

Assist with New Accounts and Teller line as needed; cross‑sell bank services.

Implement changes to established policies and procedures within the branch.

Maintain proper cash controls and ensure all branch transactions are balanced at close of day.

Prepare daily deposits and periodically verify cash on premises.

Provide leadership through effective objective setting, communication, and supervision of all branch personnel.

Conduct sales coaching, determine work methods, and review tasks with branch associates.

Conduct regular meetings with associates to inform, train, and discuss improvement areas.

Conduct weekly management meetings to coordinate activities for the following week.

Ensure personnel are well trained in all phases of their respective jobs; complete orientation of new associates.

Perform cross training, conduct security and sales training; determine staffing levels for proper utilization of human resources.

Track individual progress and conduct performance appraisals at least twice annually; propose corrective actions as needed.

Recommend promotions for associates as appropriate; provide leadership training to associates seeking management opportunities.

Approve all sick leave, vacation, overtime, and time sheets for each branch associate; keep accurate payroll and attendance records.

Establish and maintain effective, professional business relations with customers; resolve requests and complaints promptly.

Handle customers’ complaints, inform them of bank services and policies, counsel customers regarding financial needs, and project the bank’s quality reputation.

Acquire new business by performing sales calls.

Ensure branch operations are well coordinated with accounting, loan processing, and credit functions.

Manage and oversee expenses; pursue cost‑saving measures.

Continuously seek ways to improve branch operations and productivity and to meet established goals.

Prepare periodic branch activity reports and make recommendations to management for improvements.

Maintain proper maintenance and general housekeeping of the building, grounds, work areas, desks, and equipment; include snow and ice removal.

Ensure adequate supplies, forms, and equipment are available for personnel.

Institute prudent safety measures and keep management informed of branch activities and progress toward established objectives.

Fill in and perform duties in branch positions as needed; attend assigned training sessions and stay current on new operational procedures.

Interview, take applications, and process preliminary documentation on commercial loan requests; discuss loan alternatives, credit criteria, interest rates, and loan documentation in a manner that elicits positive responses from customers.

Analyze and evaluate loan requests and prepare written submission for consideration by the Commercial Loan Committee.

Identify problems or potential problems with credit information and coordinate with the necessary party to resolve the problems.

Assist in review of construction loan advances on commercial properties; conduct property inspections as assigned.

Follow up on all matured loans; assist in the collection of delinquent accounts; complete lending functions in accordance with established bank policies and legal requirements.

Coordinate functions with related departments and branches and provide support as needed.

Assist Commercial Lending personnel and provide support as needed; keep management informed of area activities and any significant problems.

Attend and participate in meetings and committees as required; serve as a member of the Commercial Loan Committee; complete required reports and records.

Performance Measurements Branch services are efficiently and effectively delivered in accordance with established bank policies and standards. Current customer accounts are maintained or expanded, and additional ones solicited. Good business relationships exist with customers and their questions and problems are promptly resolved. Branch personnel are well trained and efficient, and their activities are well coordinated. Required reports and records are accurate and timely. Management is appropriately informed of area activities and any significant problems. Suggestions are provided for improved efficiency or effectiveness in operations. Good working relationships exist with branch personnel.

Qualifications Education / Certification Associate degree in business or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and work experience.

Required Knowledge

Thorough knowledge of bank services and products.

Understanding of related legal and regulatory requirements.

Familiarity with branch functions, policies, and procedures.

Experience Required

At least five years of related experience in a financial institution, with a minimum of two years of supervisory experience.

At least five years lending experience.

Commercial lending experience required; real estate and origination background preferred.

Skills / Abilities

Strong interpersonal, leadership, and supervisory skills.

Well organized.

Ability to operate related computer applications and related business equipment.

Attention to detail.

Ability to maintain an effective and efficient workflow.

Monday – Friday: 8:00am – 5:00pm and as needed. 40 hours.
