Global Employer Services-Expatriate Tax Manager

Responsibilities
Conduct arrival and departure tax meetings for expatriates and inpatriates, as required
Manage retention of long‑term client relationships
Supervise client and service delivery expectations of global employees of corporate clients and individual engagements
Participate in the management of client fee arrangements
Review and sign U.S. individual income tax returns for inbound and outbound international assignees
Examine and approve international assignment cost projections, compensation balance sheets, assignment agreements and equalizations
Act as primary contact for assigned clients regarding communication and management of service
Communicate with clients and team members in writing, via phone and in person to conclude and sign tax returns for individual assignees
Identify potential tax issues and evaluate and select alternative actions to lessen tax burden and cost of compliance
Recognize and communicate potential risks, along with potential changes in tax policy and apply new policies to tax compliance
Conduct period client meetings
Manage resource allocation, workflow and utilization based on business need
Identify when research is necessary, frame issues to be researched, identify reliable sources, analyze facts and authorities and report the issues researched for various global tax and human resource management matters
Partner with Expatriate Services professionals on assigned projects, business development proposals, practice development challenges and client service matters, as needed
Assist in addressing routine questions from federal and state agencies, as needed
Attend professional development and training sessions on a regular basis
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, International Business, Human Resource Management or related field, required
Advanced degree in Accounting, Tax or MBA with concentration in International Business or Human Resource Management, preferred
Five to eight years of related work experience, required
Prior supervisory experience, required
Prior study abroad or international work experience, preferred
Licensed CPA, attorney or enrolled agent, preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Word, required
Experience with tax applications and research tools such as Go Systems, preferred
Fluency in foreign languages highly desired, optional
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, required
Superior analytical and diagnostic skills, required
Strong customer service skills, required
Ability to work independently or within a group environment, required
Superior personnel development and delegation skills, required
Salary National Range: $79,800 - $168,000
Maryland Range: $79,800 - $168,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $79,800 - $168,000
Washington DC Range: $79,800 - $168,000
