Global Compensation provides payroll services to U.S. Foreign Service employees, Department of State Civil Service employees, and Locally Employed staff. The office manages complex compensation environments across 180 countries and 140 currencies, delivering services such as time and attendance, payroll, annuity payments, benefits, record keeping, and reporting for domestic and overseas employees. Job Responsibilities

Accurate time and attendance (T&A) reporting, bi‑monthly pay calculations, individual leave accounts, and other pay matters for local compensation plans. Process and resolve pay actions under benefits, including federal levies, health benefits, military leave, and various adjustments. Handle entry on board actions such as advance salary, direct deposit changes, and new hire verifications. Validate personnel actions, audit and reconcile reports, and perform adjustments as required. Answer employee payroll inquiries and prepare required reports for DoS. Support project‑based work on an as‑needed basis. Preferred Skills

Superior multi‑tasking, customer service, analytical, organizational, oral, and written communication skills. Experience with computer‑based applications (word processing, spreadsheets, database management). Intermediate MS Excel and MS Word required. Payroll or financial experience in a high‑volume environment. Strong attention to detail and analytical problem‑solving abilities. Success Attributes

Curiosity Drive Research‑oriented Qualifications

Senior level experience in management, budget, program analysis, procurement, personnel management, auditing, or inspecting is preferred but not required. The role involves workflow analysis, re‑engineering, procedures development, project management, resource management, cost analysis, and related tasks to support overseas posts and domestic bureaus. Work Schedule

Employee works an 8‑hour shift between 6:15 am and 6:00 pm with a non‑compensated lunch. Additional hours may be authorized by the Project Manager. The position is in‑office, five days a week. Secret Clearance required.
