Job Description
Position Summary
The HR Generalist / Recruiter is responsible for supporting all areas of Human Resources, with a primary focus on full-cycle recruitment. This position manages day-to-day HR operations, contributes to employee relations, assists with compliance and policy administration, coordinates training initiatives, and maintains HR records and systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Recruitment & Staffing
- Manage the full recruitment cycle, including:
- Job postings
- Resume screening
- Interview scheduling and participation
- Reference checks and background verifications
- Onboarding activities
- Collaborate with hiring managers to determine staffing needs and develop job descriptions.
- Strong negotiation skills can help attract the best candidates by demonstrating that the company values its employees and is willing to invest in their success.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies to attract qualified candidates.
- Negotiating a fair and attractive offer can improve employee satisfaction and reduce the likelihood of the candidate accepting another offer or leaving soon after starting.
- Conduct wage and market research and report findings.
- Utilize recruiting platforms (e.g., ZipRecruiter, LinkedIn, social media) to enhance candidate outreach.
- Perform proactive outreach and cold calling to build candidate pipelines.
Compliance & Policy Administration
- Conduct periodic HR audits to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Maintain and update HR policies and procedures as required.
- Ensure accurate and compliant HR documentation and record-keeping.
Training & Development
- Facilitate onboarding and orientation sessions for new hires.
- Support employee training and development programs.
- Participate in career development and succession planning initiatives.
- Attend in-service and webinar training sessions as directed by the HR Leader.
HR Administration
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in HR systems.
- Handle employee offboarding processes, including conducting exit interviews.
- Assist with maintaining all Personnel files
- Participate in HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of Recruiting experience is a must.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Human Resources, with a focus on recruitment.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR software systems.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
- Knowledge of ADP or similar HRIS/timekeeping systems.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills
- Familiarity with social media recruiting . A MUST HAVE
- Experience screening and evaluating candidates through various methods (phone interviewing, writing assessments
- Familiarity with recruiting platforms and social media sourcing.
- Knowledge of employee relations practices and conflict resolution.
- Strong cold-calling and networking skills.
