Senior Software Engineer - Apple Pay Payments

Description
In this role, you will:
- Design and implement new features for Apple Pay.
- Analyze requirements, identify gaps, and translate them into technical designs.
- Write robust, maintainable Java/Kotlin code that is performant, testable, and scalable.
- Collaborate with the product and business teams on current and future initiatives.
- Work directly with the iOS client team on feature definition and development.
- Design specifications and protocols to address novel problems.
- Take ownership of your service throughout its lifecycle, contributing to a collaborative DevOps culture.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in building scalable distributed systems.
- Proficiency with programming languages such as Java, Scala, Kotlin, or others.
- Knowledge of concurrency control, data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience with databases (NoSQL / RDBMS), messaging brokers, and stream processing platforms like Kafka.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud environments.
- Interest in fintech and curiosity about the financial data ecosystem.
- Self-motivated with strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Experience working in agile or evolving product environments.
At Apple, base pay is part of our total compensation package, determined within a range based on skills, qualifications, experience, and location. The pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100.
