Overview

Psychiatrist – part time at Merakey, Sharon Hill, PA. Earn $175/hr for 8 hours per week. The role involves on‑site care with the option for telehealth services as needed.

Responsibilities

• Psychiatric Evaluation and Diagnosis
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess the mental health needs of patients.
  • Formulate accurate diagnoses based on assessment findings and evidence‑based criteria.
• Care Planning
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to develop and implement treatment and crisis stabilization plans.
• Medication Management
  • Prescribe appropriate psychotropic medications.
  • Monitor medication efficacy, side effects, and overall treatment progress.
  • Adjust medication regimens as needed to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Observe Merakey policies on prescription renewals, telephone, and electronic scripts.
• Collaborative Treatment Planning
  • Work closely with the treatment team to develop integrated treatment plans.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to discuss patient progress and develop comprehensive care strategies.
  • Document at least one contact with consumers’ PCP.
  • Conduct regular case conferences on applicable patients.
• Documentation & EHR
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date clinical documentation using the BHUCC electronic health records system.
  • Ensure compliance with documentation standards and regulatory requirements.
• Medication Education & Informed Consent
  • Provide patients and families with information about prescribed medications, potential side effects, and expected outcomes.
  • Obtain informed consent for treatment, explaining risks, benefits, and alternatives.
• Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement
  • Participate in peer reviews and quality improvement activities to enhance the delivery of psychiatric care.
  • Stay informed about current research and developments in psychiatric treatment modalities.
• External Collaboration
  • Collaborate with external mental health providers and agencies to facilitate coordinated care.

Qualifications

• MD/DO with board certification in Psychiatry (or equivalent clinical mental health qualification).
• Board‑certified psychiatrist or licensed physician with specialized training in adult psychiatric care.
• Clinical skills and experience in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, care planning, medication management, and collaborative treatment planning.
• Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Availability for on‑site care with the flexibility to provide telehealth services as needed.
