Chief Building Engineer Supervisor - Industrial Waste Treatment

Location: Napa, California, United States

Overview

CBRE is seeking an experienced Supervisor to manage and oversee the operation of the Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant and associated systems. The role requires strong technical knowledge, supervisory skills, and a commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, plan, direct, and oversee the activities and operation of industrial wastewater treatment, deionized water, and irrigation systems.
  • Operate and maintain Waste Treatment Plant (WTP) equipment and irrigation systems.
  • Maintain proper installation, operation, and maintenance of irrigation and wastewater systems, ensuring compliance with permits and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and manage the Keysight Technologies Irrigation Management Plan and Reclaimed Water Operations and Management Plan.
  • Manage and document operational procedures, safe work practices, and sample analysis for WTP and irrigation permits.
  • Respond promptly to out-of-spec conditions and report to EHS.
  • Assist in the development of operating and capital budgets, and coordinate maintenance efforts with contractors and technicians.
  • Oversee all WTP systems including fire/life safety, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and controls.
  • Communicate with tenants, clients, owners, facility management, and vendors, and support emergency response activities.
  • Lead response team efforts for alarms and upset conditions during working and non‑working hours.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university and a minimum of four years’ experience or training in industrial wastewater and inorganic chemistry.
  • Experience in metal processing and waste stream operations.
  • Supervisory experience desired.
  • Respirator program qualification and ability to obtain OSHA HAZWOPER certification.
  • Advanced math skills and ability to calculate chemical related calculations.

Certificates and Licenses

  • Additional certification in three or more of the following: electrical, mechanical, HVAC/Exhaust/Scrubber, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, plumbing.

Skills and Abilities

  • Physical strength to stoop, stand, climb, and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to operate an EMS and CMMS system.
  • Experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and retaining performance and retention.
  • Leadership skills to motivate team impact on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • Knowledge of all applicable safety regulations, project controls, and environmental regulations.

Minimum Salary: $115,000 – $130,000 annually. Compensation will depend on skills, qualifications, and experience.
