The Role The Senior Director of Commercialization & PMO leads the engine that keeps strategy moving and execution crisp. The Senior Director, Commercialization & PMO ensures that the right projects get done, the right way—translating ideas into results, and results into enterprise impact. This leader builds and guides a high-performing PMO that connects product innovation, operations, finance, and marketing, ensuring decisions are clear, priorities are aligned, and launches land cleanly.
The position demands executive presence, systems thinking, and a bias for structured decision-making—serving as the connective tissue between the ELT, Finance, and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities Include Commercialization Leadership
Lead cross-functional commercialization from approved concept through launch and post-launch review.
Coordinate specifications, packaging/artwork, regulatory, quality, plant trials, and co-man readiness.
Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Finance for sell-in readiness, and with Operations for scale-up.
Capture and institutionalize learnings to strengthen future commercialization cycles.
PMO Vision & Governance
Define and communicate the PMO vision and roadmap—people, process, and tools—aligned with company strategy.
Establish clear checkpoints and decision gates: Define → Plan → Build & Test → Ready to Sell → Review & Improve.
Maintain a single source of truth for enterprise priorities, capacity, timing, and benefits tracking.
Lead the executive cadence: manage the decision calendar, portfolio tracker, and ELT pre-reads to drive timely decisions.
Frame trade-offs, risks, and recommendations—ensuring leaders act on clear options, not open questions.
Translate strategy into a visible, prioritized roadmap; maintain dashboards showing project health, risks, and resource allocation.
Strategic Programs & S&OP Integration
Serve as liaison to Finance (CFO) and Operations for demand planning and the monthly S&OP cycle.
Lead scenario planning (volume, capacity, materials, margin) and ensure business continuity alignment.
Integrate portfolio governance with financial and operational planning—linking projects to P&L, margin, and service metrics.
Cross-Functional Orchestration
Align Finance, Operations, Marketing, and Quality on timelines, dependencies, and resource needs.
Ensure decisions, risks, and escalations flow efficiently between teams.
Identify and remove recurring bottlenecks; design lightweight solutions that improve speed and clarity.
Leadership & Development
Lead, coach, and grow a high-performing team of Project Managers and Technical Services.
Build a PMO known for accountability, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
Champion change adoption across teams—ensuring methods, templates, and tools stick.
Model servant leadership: clear roadblocks, mentor proactively, and celebrate wins.
Qualifications
10+ years in CPG (Food & Beverage preferred) across commercialization, program management, or supply‑chain planning.
Proven track record building or leading a PMO and driving enterprise governance.
Hands‑on experience in S&OP/demand planning; direct partnership with Finance and Operations leadership.
Executive‑level communication and synthesis skills; able to simplify complexity for decision‑makers.
Skilled in leading through influence—cross‑functionally and upward—with ELT exposure.
Familiar with packaging, labeling, quality, and co‑manufacturing processes.
Proficient in project tools (Asana, Smartsheet, Jira), PLM/spec systems, and ERP.
PMP or Agile certification preferred.
Hybrid role based in Culver City, CA, with periodic travel to Fresno/Dinuba and supplier sites.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
