Job Description Summary As a Principal, Experience Design, you will reimagine the payment journey for merchants and consumers, combining physical and digital experiences. The role focuses on strategic thinking, creative vision, and a relentless focus on customer outcomes while influencing high‑level executive decisions.
Essential Responsibilities
Establish overall strategy for user experience initiatives.
Negotiate and influence senior executive decision‑making.
Identify and resolve unique situations of substantial significance in UI and interaction design.
Allocate resources responsibly and apply creativity to enhance user and customer experiences across digital and physical products.
Lead the development of user experience strategies that resonate with target audiences.
Support and mentor less‑experienced roles to provide an example of innovation, excellence, and day‑to‑day learning.
Expected Qualifications
Minimum 15 years of relevant work experience and a bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
Define and establish standards in biometric payment experiences.
Navigate senior‑level decision‑making processes to align innovative ideas with organizational goals.
Address complex and highly impactful challenges related to UI and interaction design.
Deliver high‑quality, market‑ready designs while shaping the approach of larger product design teams.
Spearhead user experience strategies that resonate deeply with the target audience, ensuring solutions remain intuitive and customer‑centric.
Compensation and Benefits Base salary: $188,000 to $323,950 annually. PayPal offers an annual performance bonus, equity, and comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and other benefits. For more information, visit
