Overview We are seeking a Sr. Systems Admin, IT Engineer III to join our team supporting Joint Service Provider Infrastructure Support in Arlington, VA. The OIT's IT Operations team maintains and manages DFC's network infrastructure systems, Data Center, IT networks, telecom circuits, switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, Network Access Controls (NAC), and end‑user devices. This division delivers Windows/Linux desktop and server operating systems, Azure Virtual Desktop, Zscaler, Nutanix, Microsoft 365, Cisco and Azure infrastructure, and ServiceNow/ITSM services. We provide direct Tier II client/customer support, incident management, and trouble resolution for all IT services, computing platforms, and wireless devices to a large remote workforce.

Responsibilities

Provide senior systems administrator support for all incident escalation tickets that cannot be resolved by Tier 1 personnel.

Ensure daily operations and health of the DFC infrastructure.

Maintain availability of the DFC network, systems, and services.

Manage virtual servers, physical servers, enterprise storage, file and server backups, network switches, routers, firewalls, telecom closets, and the DFC datacenter.

Resolve escalated tickets requiring advanced knowledge or access, mentor team members, and contribute to a shared knowledge base to troubleshoot issues and share information.

Maintain and update tickets with accurate status and notes, fully documenting all actions taken. Resolve and close tickets within specified SLA timeframes.

Engage external vendors to initiate support tickets, act as the main point of contact, and maintain consistent communication and troubleshooting until resolution.

Monitor DFCNet for system anomalies, errors, and failures. Investigate alerts and provide responses to OIT management within specified timeframes.

Manage internal PKI certificates and third‑party issued certificates. Contribute to a shared knowledge base to troubleshoot and share information.

Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date documentation on all network applications and systems, using Visio, Word, Excel, and other tools to provide detailed views of traffic and data flows.

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in a relevant field + 1 year of experience, or Bachelor’s degree + 3+ years (or 5 years) of experience.

1+ years of experience patching and vulnerability management and other security services.

Experience administering a complex network (Nutanix SAN, HP NAS).

Experience utilizing ServiceNow ITSM tool to track and resolve incidents, service requests, and changes.

Experience providing Active Directory support, account management, and GPO management.

Experience with M365 services, Teams, Exchange, and related applications.

Familiarity with Azure Active Directory.

Position will be onsite at the DFC office in Washington, DC.

Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully obtain a Public Trust clearance.
