as the Director of Transportation and Infrastructure Policy. The director serves as a key advisor, issue expert, and lobbyist on a range of transportation and infrastructure issues, including surface transportation, aerospace, water resources infrastructure, pipelines, hazardous materials, endangered species, and national historic preservation.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze legislative and regulatory proposals.
Support the VP of Domestic Policy to develop and execute legislative and regulatory strategies on designated issues to advance manufacturers' priorities.
Ensure that NAM's positions reflect the core values of the manufacturing community.
Identify issues, communicate updates on priority items, and assist with recruitment and retention of membership companies.
Guide NAM advocacy campaigns and demonstrate value to membership on assigned issues.
Identify opportunities to enhance NAM’s public-facing initiatives.
Participate in public-facing speaking engagements.
Analyze statutory, procedural, and legal/litigation impacts of legislative and regulatory proposals.
Pitch, plan, and execute events to drive NAM’s strategic advocacy goals.
Manage relationships with policymakers on Capitol Hill and in the Administration to support transportation and infrastructure issues.
Communicate complex issues clearly and succinctly to a variety of audiences.
Qualifications
Minimum 8-10 years of Capitol Hill, Executive Branch, and/or association policy development experience.
Exceptional understanding of legislative and regulatory processes.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, quality‑ and goal‑driven environment.
Preferred experience with public speaking, media engagement.
Ability to draft regulatory comment letters and congressional testimony.
Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no direct reports.
Salary Range $103,000 – $150,000 annually. This range represents a good faith estimate of the lowest to the highest salary for this position. The final salary offered will be based on qualifications and experience.
