Role:
Anesthesia support for Inpatient/Outpatient surgical and GI procedures. Practice Demographics:
Inpatient and Outpatient settings Reports to department leadership
Work Schedule:
0700 – 1530, Monday to Friday, with call as detailed below. Call Coverage:
Home call approximately 4-6 weeknights per month, 1 weekend home call approximately every 1.5 months. Opportunity Highlights

Strong emphasis on clinical practice with the potential for involvement in research and academic activities. Teaching or Research Opportunities:
Opportunities exist to participate in clinical research and academic activities. Specialized Equipment and Cases:
Includes General Surgery, Orthopedics, Gynecology, Urology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Podiatry, Plastics, ECT, GI, and TEE/Cardioversion. Candidate Qualifications
Residency Training must have been completed, approved by the secretary of Veteran Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. U.S. Citizenship: non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Minimum of 5 years of experience Regional anesthesia experience Board Certified/Eligible Have a full, unrestricted medical license in any State. Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. Compensation & Benefits Package
Pay : Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases. Paid Time Off:
50 55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME). Retirement
: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA. Insurance
: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement). Licensure
: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory. CME : Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification). Malpractice
: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided. Contract : No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting. Incentives Offered:
