Job Description
DPR Construction is seeking to fill a Virtual Design & Construction, Senior Project VDC Engineer. A successful candidate will lead development, implementation and support of all VDC processes across the region.
The primary objective is to support established VDC initiatives leveraged by project teams both in the office and field, and supporting model-based project management, process workflows, and construction technology deployment for DPR business units.
Responsibilities
Support project setup for 3D trade coordination, site logistical planning, and 4D sequencing
Aide and support training in various software packages (Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, etc.)
Administer and support VDC coordination kick-off meeting and subsequent meetings
Configure project site to host BIM data or other equitable platforms
Support setup of VDC field equipment and software (total stations, laser scanner, UAVs)
Perform VDC work and support project personnel in VDC processes, including assistance with related technical support issues
Provide support for VDC services where applicable (laser scanning, drone operations, RTLS, etc.)
Assist VDC Manager in developing project-specific VDC strategies, scope and plan in addition to standard processes
Support implementation of project-specific VDC strategy and VDC initiatives
Project specific leadership and mentoring for VDC and related technology fields
Manage on-site construction team efforts in the implementation of VDC applications and processes in addition VDC deliverables
Assist project-specific contract language in coordination with VDC Manager for trade buyout
Basic Qualifications
Apply low risk management measures
Effectively manage and multi-task VDC operations and processes on 2-3 projects
Travel and have a flexible work schedule
Collaborate and understand complex processes and produce solutions to them
Lead and be led
Understand, communicate, and explain technical processes and programs to everyday users
Speak and present internally/externally
Experience In
Creating and executing strategic plans
Allocating resources and management of personnel
Hardware and technology platform adoption and integration
Training and education of programs and processes
Time/project management
Creation of visual graphics, media, and content
Basic project management and the construction process/workflow
Expert in leveraging and supporting Autodesk Navisworks Manage and/or Simulate
Strong knowledge of contractor facing authoring and collaboration tools such as Revit, Tekla, 3D AutoCAD MEP, Solidworks, Inventor, etc.
Design and Construction authoring/management programs
Education & Technical Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience in the building industry
Have 3-5+ years’ experience working in Precon, Operations, or VDC-related role
3-5 years in the field of design, engineering, or construction
Intermediate level software knowledge in Autodesk packages (Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, etc.) and other platforms

Anticipated starting pay range: $108,000.00- $185,000.00
