Packaging Engineer

for a long-term

hybrid

contract with one of our Global Medical Device

clients located in Irvine, CA.

SECTION 1: JOB SUMMARY The engineer's responsibility will be to provide package technical expertise and project management for EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation ( EU PPWR ). As needed, the Engineer will also support the design, development, and testing and of new packaging components and changes to existing packaging components. Engineer will work under the guidance and mentorship of managers and more senior engineers. This position supports the Electrophysiology business unit located in Irvine, CA. This is a

hybrid

position requiring engineer to be on site 2 to 3 days per week

and as needed to support project work.

SECTION 2: DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Under supervision and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and the company's procedures and guidelines, this position: Support collection of package component data As needed, organize and establish a process for packaging data collection Work with cross-functional teams to meet timelines and requirements. Develop and manage project plans Evaluate current package systems for improvement opportunities to reduce package waste Ensure accurate documentation for audits and regulatory submissions Develop communication updates to teams and stakeholders Designs and develops packaging and packaging process for medical devices under guidance of an experienced Packaging Engineer Knows and follows all laws and policies that apply to one's job, and maintains the highest levels of professionalism, ethics and compliance at all times. Promotes and nurtures the highest standards of professionalism, ethics and compliance and actively supports our compliance program-related initiatives and activities. SECTION 3: EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Bachelors Degree in Package Engineering or other Technical Degree (Mechanical, Chemical, Biomedical Engineering, etc.) 2-4 years of experience Medical Device industry experience, preferred SECTION 4: REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES and AFFILIATIONS Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently Proficiency in computers and technology including Microsoft Office applications Fluency in English, strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills Proficiency in computers, technology including MS office applications CAD / SolidWorks MS Project or other project planning software/system Strong English written and verbal communication skills Detailed oriented
