Licensure & Certifications Required: Current State of Connecticut Perfusion License Current ABCP Certification Current BLS Certification

Role Overview: The client is seeking a

Traveling Perfusionist

to join their dedicated team. This role requires flexibility with rotating shifts and call obligations (including weekends and holidays). A

30-minute response time

is required when on call. The schedule follows a 13-person rotation covering:

Morning Shifts (06:0014:30) Afternoon Shifts (14:0022:30) Call Shifts (weekday/weekend, 24 hours: 06:0006:00; 1st, 2nd, and 3rd call)

Responsibilities: Provide perfusion support for

elective and STAT adult open-heart procedures

(CABG, AVR, MVR, aortic repairs, AngioVac, heart transplants, ECMO, acute VADs). Support

non-cardiac procedures

such as liver transplants, HIPEC, ECMO (VV), autologous blood recovery. Operate and manage

cardiac support devices : IABP, Impella CP/5.5/RP Flex, ProTek Duo, ECMO (VA), CentriMag, HeartMate 3. Administer medications, blood products, and anesthetic agents under supervision. Perform equipment setup, operation, maintenance, and documentation. Maintain proficiency with accessory equipment and ensure adherence to hospital policies and perfusion best practices. Participate in quality management, performance improvement, staff education, and policy development. Uphold Hartford Hospitals standards of patient care, professionalism, and teamwork.
