Position Summary
The Grade Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating the work of grading crews.
This position ensures that grading work (cutting, filling, leveling, and compacting earth) is
performed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications, plans, and schedules.
Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate the activities of grading crews and equipment operators Read project site plans and grade stakes to ensure work is completed to specification Plan daily grading tasks in coordination with project timelines and other trades Operate or oversee the operation of heavy grading equipment, including dozers, motor graders, and GPS-controlled machinery when necessary. Ensure accurate fine grading of subgrades and surfaces for roads, pads, utilities, and other construction elements. Conduct daily job site inspections for safety, productivity, and quality control.
Certifications (preferred but not required): OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification First Aid/CPR certification Equipment operator certification(s)
Physical Requirements Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions Physically demanding including lifting 50+ lbs., standing, and bending Requires early mornings, long hours, and occasional weekends depending on project
