POSITION OVERVIEW
This role is with our highly regulated CPG portfolio company, JOEY. As part of a growing startup backed by a larger portfolio, you will have the opportunity to contribute directly to the companys growth and success while working within the structure and discipline needed to thrive in a regulated CPG sector.
As Art Director for JOEY, you will lead the visual execution of the brand in trade, shopper, and activation environments. Youll balance hands-on creative work with collaboration alongside external partners to deliver shopper marketing campaigns, trade assets, and experiential activations that bring JOEY to life at retail and in the world. This role is ideal for a creative leader with experience designing for shopper and retail conversion as well as activation campaignssomeone who understands how disruptive brands win attention with retailers, shoppers, and consumers alike.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Shopper & Trade Marketing
Design POS, displays, sell-in materials, and retailer-specific campaigns that drive visibility and trial. Activation Creative
Develop creative for sampling programs, events, and experiential activations that expand brand presence. Campaign Storytelling
Translate brand strategy into retail-facing and consumer-facing activation campaigns that can scale across markets. AI-Enabled Creative Development
Leverage AI tools to generate visuals, mockups, and prototypes to accelerate campaign testing and production. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work with brand, sales, and operations teams to ensure shopper and activation creative supports commercial goals. Compliance Execution
Ensure all retail and activation creative meets regulatory and partner guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS
8+ years of art direction and design experience in CPG with a shopper/trade or activation focus. Strong portfolio of shopper campaigns, trade assets, and experiential creative. Hands-on expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and AI imagery tools. Experience with compliance-driven categories (alcohol, cannabis, nicotine, OTC) strongly preferred. Skilled at working cross-functionally with sales and brand marketing teams. Balance of strategic vision and tactical execution.
