Description The KLS Martin Group is a worldwide leader in creating surgical solutions for the craniomaxillofacial and cardiothoracic fields. KLS Martin is an innovative leader in the treatment of CMF deformities and trauma cases. We use Individual Patient Solutions (IPS) by using our proprietary IPS products where CT scans are used to custom design implants that are created specifically for that individual patient. Summary The Senior Director of Technology is a strategic and hands‑on leader responsible for the vision, execution, and ongoing evolution of the organization’s technology strategy. This role oversees software engineering, enterprise systems, cybersecurity, IT operations, and project/program management. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in enterprise application management, robust security and compliance experience, and a proven track record in leading complex, cross‑functional technology projects from conception to completion.

Responsibilities Technology Leadership & Strategy

Define and execute a scalable technology roadmap aligned with business growth and operational goals.

Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend strategic investments that drive innovation and efficiency.

Serve as a key advisor to the executive team on technology trends, risks, and opportunities.

Project & Program Management

Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex cross‑functional technology initiatives using structured project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, or hybrid).

Establish and manage project governance, including timelines, milestones, risk assessments, and stakeholder communications.

Drive alignment across business, product, engineering, and IT teams to ensure successful outcomes.

Oversee a project portfolio management (PPM) framework to prioritize and track enterprise technology initiatives.

Security, Risk & Compliance

Lead organizational security initiatives and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including:

NIST Cybersecurity Framework

HIPAA

PII (Personally Identifiable Information) management

SOC 2 Type I & II audits and continuous controls monitoring

Partner with legal, compliance, and risk management teams to manage audits and maintain regulatory readiness.

Implement robust incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.

Enterprise Applications & Infrastructure

Oversee the implementation, integration, and optimization of key enterprise applications:

SAP (ERP) for finance, procurement, supply chain, and operations

Salesforce (CRM) for sales, marketing, and customer service

Ensure interoperability across platforms, systems, and data sources.

Manage cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure) and lead scalable system architecture design and deployment.

Team Leadership & Organizational Development

Build, lead, and mentor high-performing teams in engineering, IT operations, cybersecurity, and project management.

Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and results-driven culture focused on innovation, accountability, and excellence.

Champion staff development, succession planning, and knowledge sharing.

Financial & Vendor Oversight

Develop and manage the technology department’s operating and capital expenditure budgets.

Negotiate and manage contracts with third-party vendors, consultants, and technology providers.

Ensure cost-effective technology sourcing and alignment with business priorities.

Qualifications Educational and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

10+ years of progressive experience in IT and technology leadership roles, with at least 5 years at a senior management level.

Demonstrated success managing complex technology programs and cross-functional project portfolios.

Proven ability to manage enterprise-scale security and compliance programs.

Hands‑on experience with cloud computing (AWS, Azure), DevOps, and system integration.

Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

Skills Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Deep knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure, system architecture, and modern cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Strong experience with enterprise applications, including:

SAP ERP (e.g., S/4HANA) for finance, supply chain, and operations

Salesforce CRM for customer relationship and marketing automation

Expertise in cybersecurity frameworks and regulatory compliance, including:

NIST Cybersecurity Framework

HIPAA and PII data handling requirements

SOC 2 Type I & II audits, controls implementation, and ongoing compliance

Proficient in project and program management, with the ability to lead complex, cross‑functional initiatives using Agile, Scrum, and hybrid methodologies.

Experience managing technology portfolios, including budget oversight, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.

Skilled in implementing and optimizing DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment strategies.

Demonstrated ability to define and enforce IT security policies, conduct risk assessments, and lead incident response planning.

Strong leadership and people management capabilities, including hiring, coaching, performance reviews, and team development.

Ability to foster cross‑functional collaboration and align technology teams with business objectives.

Exceptional strategic planning and execution skills, with a focus on aligning enterprise technology to business outcomes.

Strong understanding of data governance, system integration, and enterprise interoperability.

Proven ability to manage vendor relationships, contracts, and technology sourcing decisions for maximum ROI.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to translate technical concepts for executive and non‑technical stakeholders.

High emotional intelligence and change management skills, capable of driving innovation and adoption across diverse teams.
