Principal Manufacturing Quality Engineer
Join the magic behind the scenes at the Walt Disney Company as a Principal Manufacturing Engineer (internally known as Principal Quality Engineer). In this dynamic role, you’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams to sustain high standards of safety, quality, efficiency and continuous improvement in the manufacturing, overhaul and refurbishment of attractions (i.e. ride vehicles and components). You’ll play a key part in providing magical guest experiences by supporting engineering projects from concept through production, installation and sustainment (maintenance). This is a 100% onsite position supporting the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA. Responsibilities
Oversee the qualification and manage relationships with key suppliers of attraction parts and assemblies, ensuring compliance with Walt Disney Company requirements along with industry (ASTM/ISO) requirements. Pursue corrective actions and improvement opportunities. Collaborate with engineering, planning, and quality assurance teams to develop and review technical requirements, drawings, and job plans for new and existing attractions. Support manufacturing projects for attractions and facilities, including machining, welding, casting, inspection and assembly of mechanical components. Coordinate with internal and external partners to resolve technical challenges, expedite orders and manage project timelines. Support the attraction vehicle overhaul program, including inspection and documentation of parts and assemblies and periodic audits. Maintain accurate records and documentation in systems ensuring traceability and compliance. Participate in the recruitment, training and development of cast members and engineering staff, fostering a culture of safety, teamwork and continuous improvement. Drive process improvements and implement best practices in manufacturing, fabrication, and inspection, including root cause analysis and corrective actions. Basic Qualifications
5 years of experience in the qualification and monitoring of supplier quality in highly regulated industries. Experience in developing and sustaining Quality Plans which includes Component Inspection Plans and Assembly Job Plans (work instructions). Experience in manufacturing, machining, casting, welding and inspection processes. Knowledge of NDT inspection processes such as Visual Testing (dimensional inspection), Magnetic Particle Inspection, Penetrant Testing, Ultrasonic Testing, and Radiographic. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Copilot and related documentation systems. Strong communication, collaboration and project management skills. Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the theme park, entertainment, automotive or aerospace industries. Familiarity with ASTM Committee F24, ASTM F1193, ASTM F893, ISO 9001 standards and California Subchapter 6.2 Permanent Amusement Ride Safety Orders. Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and drive process improvements. ASQ Certifications in Quality Engineering, Quality Auditing, Six Sigma, Quality Management, Supplier Quality. Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related field. Benefits and Compensation

The hiring range for this position in Anaheim, CA is $139,200.00 to $186,600.00 per year. A bonus and/or long‑term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package.
