Systems Administrator - Linux/Cloud/VMware

Job Summary Concentrix seeks a skilled and proactive Systems Administrator focused on Linux server administration with experience across Windows Server, virtualization, storage, and cloud technologies. The role maintains and optimizes a hybrid infrastructure environment that includes on‑premises VMware, enterprise backup solutions, SAN/NAS storage, and cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and support Linux server estates (primary focus) and Windows Server (secondary), ensuring availability, security, and performance.
Manage on‑prem virtual infrastructure: VMware vSphere/ESXi and vCenter provisioning, templates, snapshots, resource optimization.
Operate enterprise backup and recovery platforms (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, NetBackup): job configuration, monitoring, restores, and DR testing.
Support storage systems: SAN/NAS administration (LUN provisioning, zoning, multipathing) and fibre channel switches (e.g., Brocade/Cisco MDS).
Support hybrid cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS/Google Cloud Platform) for IaaS compute, storage, networking, and workload migrations.
Collaborate with DBA teams to support MS SQL Server, Oracle, and Sybase: patching, backup/restore, service availability, and performance basics.
Execute OS/application patching and upgrades (yum/dnf/apt/Windows Update/WSUS), kernel updates, and hardware/firmware maintenance windows.
Monitor health and capacity (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, Nagios); analyze performance and perform root‑cause analysis for incidents.
Automate routine tasks with Bash/Python/Ansible and PowerShell for Windows; create and maintain repeatable runbooks.
Harden systems per security baselines (CIS), manage IAM (AD/LDAP), certificates, encryption, vulnerability remediation, and audit logging.
Participate in incident, problem, and change management (ITIL), including on‑call rotations and after‑hours maintenance as required.
Maintain documentation, diagrams, asset inventories, and knowledge articles; mentor peers and share best practices.
Required Qualifications
3+ years of hands‑on Linux administration in production environments (RHEL/CentOS/Oracle Linux/Ubuntu).
2+ years of Windows Server administration (AD/Group Policy, basic roles/features).
Practical experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi and vCenter.
Experience with enterprise backup platforms (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, NetBackup).
Working knowledge of SAN storage concepts and fibre channel switching.
Exposure to cloud infrastructure (Azure/AWS/Google Cloud Platform) for compute, storage, and networking.
Experience supporting MS SQL Server, Oracle, and Sybase in partnership with DBA teams.
Proficiency with monitoring and logging platforms and performance troubleshooting.
Scripting/automation skills (Bash, Python, Ansible; PowerShell for Windows tasks).
Familiarity with security hardening (CIS), patching, vulnerability remediation, and ITIL processes.
Ability to work on‑site full time and support an on‑call rotation.
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications such as RHCSA/RHCE, VCP‑DCV, ITIL Foundation, MCSA/MCSE, Azure/AWS Associate, or Oracle certifications.
Experience with configuration management (Ansible/Puppet/Chef) and infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform).
Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and modern CI/CD practices.
Experience with enterprise patch/config tools (Red Hat Satellite, Landscape, WSSCCM).
Experience with web/app servers (Nginx, Apache, Tomcat), load balancers, and reverse proxies.
Compensation & Benefits Base salary range: $92,250 – $144,964 plus incentives that align with individual and company performance. Benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance, comprehensive employee assistance program, 401(k) retirement plan, paid time off, and holidays.
