Job Description

The System Administrator is responsible for maintaining the health, stability, and performance of the retail environment.

This role involves supporting in-store technologies, integrated platforms, and retail systems, implementing system upgrades, managing hardware and software configurations, supporting third-party integrations, and troubleshooting complex issues affecting store operations.

The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including store operations, IT infrastructure, network teams, and external vendors.

Timely incident resolution and root cause analysis are critical responsibilities.

Requirement/Must Have

Maintain daily system checks, backups, operating system updates, and configuration changes.

Install, configure, and document new hardware and software on supported systems.

Ensure security and compliance of supported systems.

Manage user accounts, including adding, deleting, modifying, and resetting passwords.

Troubleshoot technical issues and answer user queries regarding supported systems.

Utilize PowerShell scripting to automate administrative tasks and streamline configurations.

Interface directly with users to resolve communications issues with registers, workstations, and servers.

Implement security procedures and tools to ensure rigorous security measures.

Interface with third-party vendors for hardware replacements after troubleshooting.

Follow Client Services processes and procedures, ensuring thorough documentation and follow-up.

Configure operating system settings and POS software settings for retail registers, workstations, and servers.

Support the configuration, administration, and maintenance of GKOmniPOS software.

Administer and support the retail wireless infrastructure and Active Directory Domain and Certificate Services (Windows Server 2019).

Work with vendors for new application builds and remediate potential risks within the environment.

Experience

Proven experience as a System Administrator in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Experience supporting retail technologies, POS systems, or integrated platforms.

Experience with Windows Server environments and Active Directory administration.

Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues in multi-site retail environments.

Responsibilities

Perform systems administration, monitoring, and maintenance (50%).

Provide retail operations support, including user assistance, vendor coordination, and security enforcement (20%).

Manage application support for retail software, wireless infrastructure, and Active Directory services (30%).

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to implement system upgrades and enhancements.

Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.

Skills

Strong technical background in system administration and troubleshooting.

Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation of administrative tasks.

Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and certificate services.

Ability to work with retail POS systems and related applications.

Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Qualification And Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.

Proven track record of supporting retail or multi-site IT environments.
