Job Summary The Vice President of Infrastructure (VPI) is a strategic and operational technology leader responsible for driving enterprise-wide infrastructure, cybersecurity, and innovation initiatives. This role shapes the organization’s digital future by designing and delivering secure, scalable, and intelligent systems that support business growth, AI‑driven transformation, and a modern workforce. The VPI also oversees infrastructure operations, partners with software development teams to ensure readiness, and collaborates with the cybersecurity team to secure our systems.
Principal Responsibilities
Strategic Technology Leadership
Align with the CIO’s vision to define and execute a forward‑looking technology roadmap that supports business strategy, digital transformation, and operational resilience.
Lead enterprise infrastructure modernization with a focus on cloud‑native architecture, automation, and AI enablement—particularly within Microsoft Azure.
Serve as a trusted advisor on emerging technologies, risk posture, and IT investment planning.
Promote a culture of innovation, agility, and continuous improvement across the technology organization.
Infrastructure & Cloud Engineering
Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of hybrid infrastructure environments (on‑prem and Azure).
Lead the adoption and integration of Azure AI services, including Azure Machine Learning, Cognitive Services, and AI‑powered analytics.
Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of enterprise systems, networks, and data platforms.
Support software development teams by ensuring infrastructure readiness, CI/CD pipeline integration, and DevOps best practices.
Cybersecurity & Risk Management
Own the enterprise cybersecurity strategy in collaboration with technology leadership.
Implement and maintain robust security frameworks, incident response plans, and compliance protocols (e.g., NIST, HIPAA, CIS, NYDFS).
Monitor and mitigate risks related to data protection, access control, and threat detection across all digital assets.
Help Desk & End‑User Support
Manage Help Desk and desktop support teams to deliver exceptional service and technical support to all employees.
Implement ITSM best practices and tools (e.g., ManageEngine, ServiceDesk) to streamline support operations and improve resolution times.
Foster a user‑centric approach to IT support, ensuring responsiveness, reliability, and satisfaction.
Operational Excellence & Governance
Support the CIO in developing and managing the IT operating and capital budgets, ensuring cost‑effective technology investments.
Establish and enforce IT policies, SOPs, SLAs, and performance metrics.
Oversee vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and procurement of technology services and solutions.
Team Development & Leadership
Build, mentor, and retain a high‑performing, cross‑functional technology team.
Promote professional development, succession planning, and knowledge sharing across the department.
Lead by example with a hands‑on, collaborative leadership style that inspires trust and accountability.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
15+ years of progressive IT experience, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles.
Proven success in leading enterprise infrastructure, cloud transformation, and cybersecurity programs with hands‑on skills across a range of technology administration areas.
Demonstrated experience supporting AI and data initiatives in Azure or similar platforms.
Experience working closely with software development teams and DevOps practices.
Strong business acumen and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
Experience in regulated industries such as insurance or financial services is a plus.
Ability to juggle multiple projects and prioritize tasks across the team to deliver project deliverables seamlessly and on time.
Authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis without company sponsorship.
Specialized Knowledge or Licenses
Microsoft ecosystem: Windows Server, Exchange, SharePoint, SQL Server, Microsoft 365, Azure (including AI and ML services).
Cloud platforms: Azure (required), AWS (preferred). Experience with Terraform.
Virtualization and storage: VMware, Veeam, NetApp, Pure Storage.
Networking: Cisco routing and switching (OSPF, BGP), VPN, firewalls.
Security: Cybersecurity frameworks, endpoint protection, threat detection and response.
Tools: PowerShell scripting, ManageEngine, ServiceDesk, Linux, open‑source technologies.
Telephony: Teams and unified communications.
DevOps: CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Compensation and Benefits Salary for this position ranges from $175,000.00 to $225,000.00. The base pay offered will be determined based on experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance‑based incentives.
Comprehensive benefits include participation in family medical and dental insurance programs, 401(k) plan, and PTO.
