Overview SQL developers analyze, design and support applications that interface with the database computer language SQL. SQL is a declarative programming language that is used in many relational databases. The specific syntax of SQL may vary a little from database to database, but the relevant concepts are mostly the same. SQL Developers are responsible for developing SQL databases and writing applications to interface with SQL databases. Development often consists of designing tables, stored procedures, views and functions.

Responsibilities Development of high quality database solutions Develop, implement and optimize stored procedures and functions using T‑SQL Review and interpret ongoing business report requirements Research required data Build appropriate and useful reporting deliverables Analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements Suggest new queries Develop procedures and scripts for data migration Provide timely scheduled management reporting Investigate exceptions with regard to asset movements Help write and optimize in‑application SQL statements Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases Prepare documentations and specifications Handle common database procedures such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc. Profile server resource usage, and optimize and tweak as necessary Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer science or a related field.
