Job Summary: Members of the Large Electric Power Application Engineering team provide front line technical support to our dealers and sales teams with a focus on packaged genset products. This role would be of interest for those with good technical knowledge and a desire to be closely involved with high profile projects for key account customers. This role helps to deliver sales results while also engaging and better understanding the needs of our global account data center customers and the dealers that support them. What you will do
Act as a liaison to the Global Account Managers to better understand the needs of their customers and provide focused support to the data center market.
Respond to customer and dealer technical inquiries for the data center market from the conceptual project phase through commissioning. This includes development of Design to Order (DTO) quotations for custom products not offered in the standard price list.
Consultation with both the dealer & sales organizations on product offerings and how to best apply them. This will include project specific technical guidance along with being an interface to core engineering teams while investigating alternative solutions.
Feedback to engineering and product definition teams in order to drive and improve future product development allowing Caterpillar to better meet our customer needs.
Identification & delivery of product application training along with creating independent materials and white papers to assist with frequently requested topics.
This role includes supporting the pre-production role out of new Large Electric Power technology to global account customers.

Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. Relationship Management:
Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers. Top Candidates Will Also Have
4 year bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering or technologist or equivalent experience.
5 years experience in Energy and Transportation, preferably Electric Power.
Deep product and/or industry expertise in Electric Power.
Familiarity with various Caterpillar systems (TMI, EOMP/ISA, CSQ, EDDC and other technical, drawing and operations system).
Previous dealer interaction and / or product group experience.
Good human relations and communication skills are required to develop a cooperative work relationship with others inside the department and especially global field sales organizations, dealers and customers.
Additional Information
This position is located in Griffin, GA or Lafayette, IN.
Domestic travel up to 25% & minimal international travel is required.
Domestic relocation assistance is offered for this position.
Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position.
This position requires the candidate to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.
