Principal Consultant, Environmental FERC Project Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead large, complex environmental permitting projects for natural gas and LNG pipelines across the United States, managing scope, budget, and schedule.
Act as client point of contact and manage interdisciplinary teams for baseline studies, facility siting, routing, and mitigation during construction, commissioning, and operations.
Oversee permitting of major natural gas and LNG capital development projects, including hydrogen, renewables, and carbon sequestration facilities.
Generate technical proposals, identify new business leads, and maintain client relationships to support repeat business.
Lead strategic regulatory meetings with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and other federal, state, and local permitting agencies.
Engage with key regulatory agencies, including the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, National Marine Fisheries Service, EPA, and state historic preservation offices.
Contribute technical expertise on environmental impact assessment deliverables and overall quality control review.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Planning, Geography, Civil or Environmental Engineering, Geology, or related field (equivalent experience acceptable).
Prior consulting experience is required.
10+ years (6+ preferred) of environmental impact assessment and permitting experience on FERC‑regulated projects for private‑sector clients.
At least 5 years of experience managing the permitting of large natural gas and LNG projects, including oversight of complex FERC applications.
Strong knowledge of key natural resource regulations: NEPA, Section 404 of the Clean Water Act, Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act, Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, and Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act.
Experience with federal, state, and local permitting processes.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and ability to produce concise, accurate technical documents.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively on project teams.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Base salary: $129,195 – $152,500 USD annually (paid range may be adjusted based on qualifications). Eligible for an annual discretionary performance bonus. Benefits include paid time off, parental leave, medical, dental, vision, life, disability, AD&D insurance, 401(k) or equivalent retirement plan, and other applicable employee benefits.
