As the Head of Business Development Management in the Americas, you will be working at the forefront of the company’s growth activities within the Americas region. You will be responsible to identify and agree on new sales targets together with top management, to create and negotiate sophisticated sales proposals in order to sell procurement services, and lead through the delivery of the services and to build relationships with clients’ stakeholders.
Your Responsibilities
Leading the Business Development Management (BDM) function and acting as a strategic driver of our growth agenda across regions and service lines - while remaining actively involved in day-to-day execution.
Defining and executing the business development strategy in close collaboration with executive leadership, including identification of new market opportunities and key client targets.
Personally engaging in high-stakes client interactions (including C-level and referral partners), managing key stakeholder relationships, and representing us at a senior level.
Driving revenue growth by taking the lead in the development and timely submission of complex sales proposals - from early-stage ideation through to detailed execution and final presentation.
Leading and completing complex pricing proposals to meet the needs of the potential client while maintaining our margin and growth strategy.
Leading and completing contract negotiations with prospective clients to ensure optimal outcomes aligned with business objectives.
Ensuring successful client onboarding by guiding the transition from sales to service delivery in line with contractual obligations and strategic priorities.
Acting as a mentor and coach to the BDM team, fostering high performance, ownership, and continuous development within the team.
Maintaining oversight of the sales pipeline and business development activities using CRM tools and reporting regularly to executive management - with a focus on both high-level insights and operational detail.
Promoting and role-modeling a strong performance culture built on integrity, client-centricity, and collaboration across functions and regions.
Your Profile
Proven track record in business development and consultative sales at a senior level, ideally in professional services, procurement, or supply chain.
Strong leadership experience with the ability to build, motivate, and manage high-performing, cross-functional, and cross-cultural teams.
Willingness to go beyond strategic planning by taking a hands‑on role in the execution of key business development activities.
Exceptional project and stakeholder management skills with the ability to navigate complexity, drive decisions, and deliver results.
Strategic thinker with commercial acumen, data-driven decision-making skills, and a hands‑on mentality when needed.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with the ability to influence at all levels, including C-suite.
Passion for innovation and continuous improvement, with a strong sense of ownership and a proactive mindset.
Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive and client‑oriented mindset, combined with the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven, and rapidly changing environment.
Team player with excellent communication skills and good aptitude to learn, with a willingness to share knowledge and to learn from others.
In‑depth understanding of procurement services, sourcing solutions, and client needs in a global context.
University degree (e.g. Business, Economics, Engineering) or equivalent long‑term industry experience.
Fluency in English; Spanish or German languages are an asset.
High proficiency in MS Office, especially PowerPoint; familiarity with CRM and sales tools required.
A broad understanding of procurement technology solutions in the source‑to‑pay landscape is highly desired.
A minimum of 10 years' experience (15 years preferable) in business development and / or sales operations / business development and at least 3 years' experience as a people manager.
