Tax Senior – Novogradac & Company LLP
We are seeking a highly motivated Tax Senior to join our fast‑growing public accounting firm. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical foundation, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to excellence in client service.
Position Summary The Tax Senior will manage a portfolio of tax engagements with minimal supervision, mentor junior staff, and contribute to firm profitability through effective time and resource management.
Your Contributions and Responsibilities
Complete tax projects for designated clients with minimal oversight by managers.
Conduct thorough engagement reviews and recognize potential problem areas during engagements.
Accept increasing responsibility for engagement management and propose effective solutions.
Conduct business‑specific research, gather and analyze data, prepare reports, and make recommendations.
Develop, strengthen, and maintain effective client relationships through professionalism, responsiveness, and a service‑oriented approach.
Seek out and complete training courses to enhance skills in the industries the firm focuses on.
Increase the team’s profitability by managing your time and the time of staff efficiently, contributing ideas, and adding value.
Supervise and mentor Staff Accountants.
Other duties and projects as assigned.
Work toward obtaining a CPA license if not already obtained.
Your Background and Skills
Exhibit a strong understanding of accounting and tax rules.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Effectively prioritize a fast‑paced and varied workload, manage concurrent and shifting priorities.

Strong computer skills, including solid proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
Maintain a professional demeanor with coworkers and clients.
Meet internal firm deadlines (time entry, billing, etc.).
Available to work evenings and weekends as needed and to travel domestically if required.
Your Qualifications Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting or finance (advanced degree is a plus), and 1‑3 years of experience in public accounting. Ability to sit for the CPA exam or have passed a section of the CPA. CPA license is a plus.
Experience with any of the following is helpful but not mandatory: Affordable Housing, Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), Opportunity Zones (OZ), Renewable Energy Tax Credits (RETC), Historical Tax Credits (HTC), Housing and Urban Development (HUD), New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC), Real Estate, Developers, Partnerships, Housing Authority (HA), Public Housing Authority, Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI), Community Development Entity Certification Applications (CDE), Property Compliance, Nonprofit, Single Audit, Uniform Guidance, A‑133, Forecasting, Cost Segregation, Year 15 Exit, Tax‑exempt bond and HOME programs.
