Join Speechify’s Platform team to build backend services that power text‑to‑speech, payments, analytics, subscriptions, new products, and external APIs.
Overview Speechify’s mission is to make reading barrier‑free. Over 50 million people use Speechify’s products to turn PDFs, books, Google Docs, news articles, and websites into audio. Speechify’s reading products include an iOS app, Android app, Mac app, Chrome Extension, and Web app. Speechify earned the Chrome Extension of the Year and the 2025 Design Award for Inclusivity.
What You’ll Do
Design, develop, and maintain robust public APIs (e.g., TTS) and internal APIs (Payment, Subscription, Auth, Consumption Tracking) that meet business and scalability requirements.
Lead the full backend API landscape, optimizing performance and maintainability.
Collaborate on B2B solutions, customizing and integrating for enterprise clients.
Work closely with cross‑functional teams to align backend architecture with product strategy and user experience.
Ideal Candidate
Proven backend development experience: TS/Node (required).
Direct experience with GCP and knowledge of AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers.
Efficient ideation and implementation, prioritizing tasks by urgency and impact.
Preferred: Experience with Docker and containerized deployments.
Preferred: Proficiency in deploying high‑availability applications on Kubernetes.
