Visual Merchandiser (Retail-Garden Center)
Armstrong Garden Centers, Inc. seeks an experienced Visual Merchandiser to manage and enhance the visual display across our garden center locations. The role is integral to both the in‑store crew and the Visual Merchandising Department.
Responsibilities
Provide exceptional customer service and support during checkout and in‑store operations.
Register functions and assist with customer carry‑outs.
Review and implement display schematics, setting of displays, focal points, and display gardens.
Re‑merchandise end caps and other seasonal rotational displays.
Review monthly sales planner and promotional calendars for consistency.
Implement and follow up on company merchandising standards.
Order and post store signage.
Analyze store layout and traffic flow, providing feedback and recommendations.
Effective communication skills with team and customers.
Follow safe work practices and report unsafe conditions.
Perform other related duties as requested.
Qualifications Personable, outgoing individual with strong customer service orientation. Self‑motivated and eager to learn nursery product lines and visual merchandising techniques. Prior experience in retail visual merchandising highly desired.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree preferred.
Experience in retail visual merchandising, garden center, or related field.
Knowledge of product lines carried in the garden center.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly rate commensurate with experience.

Work Schedule
Five days per week, weekends required. Variable hours with seasonal changes.
Physical Environment Extensive use of back, legs, knees, arms, feet, and hands for lifting, stooping, squatting, bending, twisting, kneeling, pulling, pushing, and reaching. Unassisted lifting limits 30–50 lbs. Outdoor environment most of the day with some indoor activity.
Grooming Standards Neat and clean grooming standards required for all Armstrong Garden Centers employees.
