The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for ensuring that the store achieves or exceeds sales plan and profitability goals, as well as enhancing the David Yurman brand within the store and local market. This individual will also partner with the store management team in overseeing that all operational policies and procedures are being followed. The assistant store manager will effectively lead, coach and support sales professionals with a focus on clientele development and providing a high level of customer service to create a luxury experience.

Responsibilities

Achieve and/or exceed sales plan – partner with sales professionals to meet individual sales plans and KPIs, participate in strategic initiatives to deliver the sales budget, demonstrate active floor leadership, support closing sales, implement special events, stay current on industry trends, maintain visual presentation.

Clientele/Service Management – coach and monitor in partnership with Store Manager on sales professional accountability for client outreach, ensure store data capture goals are achieved, maintain a luxury environment, provide feedback to staff.

Operations – manage day‑to‑day activities on the sales floor, supervise staff coverage, maintain business controls such as inventory and stock replenishment, implement security measures, partner with sales professionals in special order requests, oversee store opening and closing.

Talent – partner with Retail Store Manager in hiring and performance review feedback, provide leadership through scheduled meetings, build ongoing development opportunities, explain and enforce KPIs.

Qualifications

Minimum 1–2 years of proven experience managing in a similar role, preferably within a high‑end luxury accessories boutique.

Ability to motivate, establish strong business partnerships, promote professionalism with clients and staff.

Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.

Proven ability to drive results and develop strategic vision.

Fine Jewelry and/or Fine Watch experience preferred, but not required.

Flexibility to work in various roles based on business needs, including non‑traditional hours, nights, weekends, holidays.

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.

Compensation & Benefits The expected base pay for this role is $70,000 – $90,000 annually. Base pay is one component of David Yurman’s total compensation package, which may also include the following for eligible employees: access to healthcare benefits, 401(k) plan, bonus, employee discounts, generous paid time off, sick time, and more.
