Base pay range $105,000.00/yr - $115,000.00/yr

About the Role

As the Director of People & Culture, you’ll be a strategic partner to Shelter House’s leadership team. You’ll guide people practices that align with our mission and values, while leading a broad scope of HR functions, from compliance and benefits to talent development and culture‑building. This is a hands‑on role with the opportunity to shape how we support and grow our people.

How You Will Contribute

Advise the CEO and senior leaders on people strategy, organizational design, compliance, and workforce planning.

Operations & Compliance

Lead the People & Culture team in managing employee relations, performance reviews, payroll, benefits, and HR compliance.

Talent Management & Development

Oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance management, internal mobility, succession planning, and training initiatives.

Culture & Engagement

Champion a people‑first culture by enhancing employee engagement, wellness, and connection across the organization.

Qualifications

7+ years of broad HR experience, including 5+ years in a supervisory role

Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Psychology, or related field

PHR or SHRM‑CP certification preferred

Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws

Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Excellent communication and listening skills

High integrity and discretion with sensitive information

Collaborative, self‑motivated, and solutions‑oriented

Physical Requirements

Annual TB test required

Ability to sit or stand for long periods

Ability to lift 10–20 pounds

Salary Range

The anticipated salary range for this position is $105,000 - $115,000.

401(k) with 4% employer match
