U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs . This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Open continuous announcement and will remain open until April 17, 2026. The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be October 22, 2025, with subsequent cut-off dates every 2 weeks. No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting Major Duties

Evaluates and treats patients for any disease that needs ENT surgery and/or treatment to achieve palliation or cure. Screen outpatients and inpatients to determine need for further care. Performs initial histories and physical examinations on inpatients and outpatients, as well as major and minor surgical procedures. Prescribes medications, orders diagnostic studies such as lab tests, x-rays, electrocardiograms (EKGs) and CT scans. Provides educational instruction and training for UCSF Fresno residents/fellows assigned to Surgery rotations at the VA, and ensures curricula. Meets the needs of customers while supporting the medical center and service missions. Consistently communicates and treats customers (patients, visitors, volunteers, and all medical center staff) in a courteous, tactful, and respectful manner. Provides on call coverage as determined by Service Chief. Other duties as assigned. Conditions of Employment

Basic Requirements: United States Citizenship. Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree from an approved US school. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a US State, Territory, or D.C. Residency Training: Completed accredited core specialty training (ACGME or AOA) leading to board certification. Board certified/board eligible Otolaryngologist. Preferred Experience:

One to three years of recent surgical experience. Additional Requirement:

Must meet physical standards for the position. Requires lifting 15-44 pounds, pushing (approx. 2 hours), reaching above shoulder, use of fingers and both hands, walking and standing for 3-5 hours and kneeling. Ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously. Must have depth perception and ability to distinguish basic colors and shades of colors. Hearing aid is permitted. Education and Certification

Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a LCME or AOA accredited school. Foreign medical graduates must meet ECFMG certification and provide certificate. Under Secretary approval for non-US medical schools in exceptional circumstances. Additional Information
