Job Description Seeking a highly skilled and Strategic Sourcing Manager covering both direct and indirect Procurement categories. The ideal candidate will be a strong and experienced contract negotiator with a proven track record of delivering value through supplier partnerships, cost optimization, and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

Lead sourcing initiatives across direct (e.g., APIs, packaging) and indirect (e.g., lab supplies, transportation, fleet) categories in Life Sciences and Pharmaceutical Procurement.

Develop and execute category strategies aligned with business goals and regulatory requirements.

Drive complex negotiations with suppliers to secure optimal commercial terms, service levels, and risk mitigation.

Manage contract lifecycle, including drafting, reviewing, and compliance monitoring.

Partner with cross-functional teams, including Technical Ops, Quality, Regulatory, and Manufacturing, to understand requirements and align sourcing strategies.

Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, ensuring procurement adds strategic value.

Monitor market trends, supplier landscapes, and regulatory changes impacting the pharma supply chain.

Identify and mitigate supply risks through proactive sourcing and supplier diversification.

Track and report on sourcing KPIs, savings, and supplier performance.

Ensure adherence to internal policies, SOPs, and external compliance standards (e.g., GMP, GxP).

Develop and manage strategies for subcategories, planning and implementing strategic sourcing initiatives.

Create sourcing specifications, requirements, and scopes of work for RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs.

Gather and assess data through benchmarking, market intelligence reports, and Voice of the Customer (VoC) interviews.

Deliver measurable cost savings and monitor these savings against contracted terms and pricing.

Provide insight into rates, unit costs, and costing structures to enable optimal negotiations.

Support the definition and implementation of strategy to serve global and regional business needs.

Align category priorities through collaboration with stakeholders.

Represent Americas Procurement in organizational decisions with critical short and long-term impact.

Ensure vendor compliance with GxPs and other applicable regulations.

Negotiate contract terms in consultation with the Law department aligned with business requirements.

Use data to drive decision-making for successful category projects.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure alignment with business objectives.

Collaborate with suppliers to identify opportunities for innovation, cost reduction, and process improvement.

Resolve supplier issues and disputes in a timely and effective manner.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Life Sciences, or related field; MBA or advanced degree.

5+ years of sourcing/procurement experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.

Strong contract negotiation skills with demonstrated success in complex, high-value deals.

Experience managing both direct and indirect spend categories.

Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills.

Familiarity with procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Jagger) and contract management tools.

Experience utilizing data analytics, automation, and visualization tools.

Proven success with cost models and total cost of ownership models.

Ability to operate with integrity and clarity in ambiguous environments to drive change.

Certification in procurement (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) is a plus.

Experience working in a regulated environment (FDA, EMA).

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed organization.

Hourly rate commensurate with Experience - Hybrid Opportunity
