Sr Data Engineering Architect – Manager

Avanade is seeking a seasoned Lead Solution Architect within our Data & AI Practice to drive transformative change for clients across the Microsoft ecosystem. Overview

As a Lead Solution Architect you will adopt a client‑centric approach, understand challenges and opportunities, deliver high value solutions and shape strategic direction using data platforms, analytics, real‑time intelligence and AI engineering. Responsibilities

Engage in solutioning and support on strategic opportunities, intervene in high‑risk complex deliveries and shape solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes. Design and deliver large‑scale Data Platform solutions leveraging modern cloud and AI capabilities (Lakehouse, Data Mesh, Fabric, Cloud Scale Analytics). Translate complex technical concepts to senior stakeholders, participate in solution reviews and client presentations. Collaborate with Data & AI leadership to evolve best practices, develop AI models, and contribute to GTM initiatives. Drive managed services and multi‑year engagements for Data & AI. Qualifications

Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Azure Data Services, Fabric, Databricks and relevant cloud data estate technologies. Demonstrated experience designing and delivering large‑scale data platform solutions, including performance, security, reliability and governance. Strong understanding of modern Data & AI capabilities (structured/unstructured data, streaming, IoT, AI, GenAI) and ability to articulate responsible data platform principles. Advanced degree in a quantitative field or equivalent combination of education and experience; proven success in consultative technical sales and architectural design. Excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration, and relationship‑building skills; ability to influence remote teams. About You

Passionate about technology and engaging with and advising clients. Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as computer science, applied mathematics, statistics, or machine learning (or equivalent). Experience driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts, and ensuring follow‑through with exceptional communication skills. Starting pay varies by location: $163,200–$193,800 (Chicago, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, Sacramento, San Diego); $168,800–$200,450 (Baltimore, Boston, Los Angeles, Seattle, Washington DC); $179,200–$212,800 (New York, Bay Area); $151,200–$179,550 (all other cities). Equal Opportunity Employer
