About The Role We’re excited to hire an Sr. Associate, Policy Communications. In this role, you’ll be responsible for helping to craft and share the narrative around DoorDash’s public policy campaigns across the US, and providing high level support and execution to both the West and East regional leads. You will help draft original messaging, weigh in on tactics, and play a key role in campaigns across all 50 states and at the federal level.
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
Supporting the implementation of communications strategy for state & local policy campaigns and initiatives to help shape DoorDash’s strategic narrative, working closely with Policy, Legal, and other teams.
Working to proactively tell the story of DoorDash’s policy efforts.
Assisting in issues management, advance planning and scenario mapping to develop response plans and materials for various potential issues.
Developing media engagement strategies to enhance our relationship with essential media and influencers at the national, state and local level by telling the story of how DoorDash empowers local economies.
Thinking strategically about all elements of a successful Public Affairs campaign, working with stakeholders to develop and execute on campaign plans.
We’re Excited About You Because…
You have 4+ years experience supporting and executing public affairs campaigns and working with national and local media outlets to help advance public policy objectives.
You have a strong understanding of the New York City media landscape and can leverage relationships from day one.
You have experience working in fast‑paced, fluid and challenging environments, and are familiar with the tech space and related issues.
You’ve cut your teeth working directly with elected officials, government agencies or political campaigns.
You’ve demonstrated cross‑functional leadership, taking ownership of communications programs and building strategic plans in a complex organization with varied priorities.
You have excellent people and project management skills, with the ability to lead and manage multiple time‑sensitive projects under tight deadlines.
You are detail‑oriented and prepared to play a key role in keeping the team organized and focused on priorities.
You’re a self‑starter, intrinsically motivated, and a great teammate.
You take your work, but not yourself, seriously—and maintain a good sense of humor about both.
Compensation Actual compensation within the pay range listed below will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.
