Virtual Work This role enables associates to work virtually full‑time, with the exception of required in‑person training sessions, providing maximum flexibility and autonomy.
Position Overview The Clinical Operations Associate Medical Director supports the medical management staff to ensure timely and consistent medical decisions for members and providers.
Responsibilities
Ensures timely completion of clinical case reviews for their board‑certified specialty.
Conducts physician‑to‑physician calls to gather medical information for necessity determinations.
Makes medical necessity determinations for grievances and appeals appropriate for their specialty.
Applies consistent use of medical policies when making necessity decisions.
Brings attention to supervisors on case decisions requiring Medical Director review or policy interpretation.
Qualifications
MD or DO with board certification approved by ABMS or AOA.
Active unrestricted medical license to practice medicine or a health profession.
Preferred Experience
Board certification in Sleep Medicine (ABMS) strongly preferred.
3–5 years of clinical practice experience beyond fellowship training desirable.
Compensation $179,503 to $307,732 (salary range for this position, depending on location and experience).
Locations California, Illinois, Maryland, New York
