Summary
The St. Cloud VA Health Care System is seeking a Chief of Dental to serve as a practicing dentist performing a full range of dental procedures while providing administration of the service line. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP).
Salary $260,000 to $335,000 per year (Base Pay + Market Pay).
Location Saint Cloud, MN (1 vacancy).
Position Type Permanent, Full‑time. Telework: Not available. Travel: 25% or less.
Closing Date October 24, 2025.
Responsibilities
Provide administrative and clinical oversight of the Dental Clinic, including staff dentists, specialty dentists, hygienists, assistants and administrative support.
Make timely clinical determinations for Dental Community Care Request for Services (RFS).
Perform the full range of dental procedures for commonly encountered dental diseases and health problems.
Provide prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases, injuries, and malformations of teeth, jaws, and oral cavity.
Develop performance metrics for all provider classifications to drive results.
Engage in quality improvement activities, including compliance and the VA credentialing/privileging process.
Use customer service data for service recovery and improvement strategies.
Prepare and analyze data through reports to facilitate department management.
Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and other survey/oversight entities.
Qualifications
Doctor of Dental Surgery or dental medicine from an approved U.S. or Canadian school, or an approved foreign school with licensure.
Completed or currently completing a residency in general practice or specialty, or equivalent experience with medically compromised patients.
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a U.S. state, territory, Commonwealth, or D.C.
Preferred: 1‑2 year ADA‑approved residency or 3+ years of practice experience.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) if performing conscious sedation.
Preferred Experience
Clinical residency or 3+ years of professional experience.
BLS and ACLS certifications.
