Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design (RMCAD) invites applications for the
Content Developer / Multimedia Specialist
position located in Lakewood, CO. The role focuses on creating engaging, accessible, and learner‑centered learning content that supports technology‑enhanced teaching and learning.
Base salary:
$60,000 – $68,000 per year.
Target fill date:
January 1, 2026. Applications accepted on an ongoing basis until filled.
Responsibilities
Develop and adapt instructional content for online, hybrid, and in‑person learning environments.
Create engaging learning materials such as presentations, videos, animations, quizzes, and other learning objects.
Adapt existing content to improve accessibility and meet institutional standards (ADA, WCAG compliance).
Produce multimedia elements (video clips, animations, interactive activities) to support instructional goals.
Utilize eLearning authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia) to create dynamic course content.
Collaborate with Learning Experience Designers and faculty to integrate multimedia elements into courses.
Edit and enhance multimedia content to align with pedagogical goals and enhance learner engagement.
Support integration of emerging technologies (gamification, simulations, interactive media) into instructional content.
Assist in uploading and organizing content within the LMS to ensure course functionality and accessibility.
Provide basic troubleshooting support for technical issues related to multimedia elements in the LMS and test content on different devices and platforms for compatibility.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Multimedia Production, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
1–3 years of experience in content development, multimedia production, or instructional design.
Familiarity with at least one Learning Management System (LMS).
Experience creating multimedia content such as videos, animations, or interactive media.
Strong portfolio showcasing eLearning modules or similar projects.
Technical Proficiency
Proficiency with eLearning authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, etc.).
Experience with multimedia production tools (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc.).
Familiarity with LMS platforms (Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, etc.).
Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG, ADA compliance) and mobile‑first content design.
Knowledge of adult learning theory and research‑based best practices in online learning design.
Collaboration & Communication
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work closely with faculty, SMEs, and cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality content.
Comfort with receiving and incorporating feedback from stakeholders.
Basic troubleshooting skills for multimedia and LMS‑related issues.
Ability to identify gaps in content or functionality and propose solutions.
Organizational skills: manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
