College / Department School of Computer and Cyber Sciences at Augusta University, positioned to collaborate with national cyber security and technology partners.

Job Summary The Communications Specialist will manage internal and external communications for the School of Computer and Cyber Sciences (SCCS).

Responsibilities

Serve as lead communications advisor to SCCS; oversee strategic communications planning and the production of written materials, including video scripts, remarks, letters, and electronic communications.

Support internal employee engagement plans and platforms with senior leadership; provide event and presentation support.

Develop and maintain web content; manage SCCS social media platforms; coordinate design and ordering of school collateral.

Coordinate with Communications and Marketing to implement strategic plans; ensure branding consistency and alignment with institutional goals.

Draft and edit internal stories and news items; coordinate distribution with DCM; identify media opportunities as appropriate.

Create and manage content for newsletters and electronic communications; use templates and tools (e.g., Mailchimp) to distribute materials.

Coordinate outreach activities (GenCyber, Girls Who Code, Codehoppers, high school programs) and internal outreach efforts.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field.

Minimum of three years of professional experience in communications, marketing, or public relations.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of graphic design techniques and software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).

Working knowledge of FERPA and higher education policy.

Experience marketing graduate and undergraduate programs.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge:

Working knowledge of fundamentals of marketing practices.

Skills:

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication; detail-oriented with strong prioritization and organizational abilities.

Abilities:

Ability to coordinate multiple projects, meet deadlines, maintain confidentiality, and make independent decisions.

Shift / Salary / Benefits Shift : Days; M-F

Pay Band : B7

Salary commensurate with qualifications within the established range.
