Responsibilities
Meet daily with utility companies to discuss line‑clearance work around power lines.
Obtain permission from property owners to allow crews to perform line‑clearance work.
Communicate any limitations or refusals to utility companies during work planning.
Interpret utility circuit maps.
Assist crews with vegetation tasks such as spraying, brush cleanup, and trimming.
Help enforce job safety.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in customer service settings with conflict de‑escalation skills.
Experience with or willingness to learn how to interpret drawings, environmental engineering plans, construction plans, or utility circuit maps.
Proficiency in standard office computer hardware and software such as Microsoft Office.
Willing and able to obtain specialized training and certifications as required (tree species identification, local state and federal licenses).
Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR cards.
Pass a pre‑employment drug test and job duty skills tests.
Valid Driver’s License.
Physical Demands
Lift 50 lbs. to shoulder height or higher.
Push or pull up to 50 lbs.
Walk or hike up to one mile on uneven terrain.
Endure extreme climate variances (severe cold to high heat and humidity).
Operate two‑handed tools and equipment.
Environmental Conditions
Outdoor work continuously.
Occasional noise levels.
Frequently extreme temperatures.
Rarely contact with hazardous materials or air quality issues.
Never confined spaces.
Tools & Equipment
Aerial lift trucks, dump trucks, ATVs.
Chainsaws, pole saws, hand saws, chipper.
Blowers, pruners, pole pruners, rakes, winches, ropes.
Climbing gear: harness, chaps, spikes.
Sprayers, herbicide applicators, fuel, cones, signs.
Tablets and communication devices.
