Provide inpatient care to pediatric and young adult patients admitted on Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant (PBMT) and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology (PHO) service; focus of time spent primarily with Bone Marrow Transplant patients. Provide overnight coverage for PBMT and PHO inpatient. Direct patient care and management would include initiation of evaluation, review of laboratory and radiographic tests results, attend team‑based rounds, process discharges, and developing a plan of care both independently and in coordination with other pediatric hematology‑oncology/PBMT team members. Stabilizing and transferring patient to Pediatric ICU, if indicated. Patient and family counseling, education, and support as necessary. Collaboration with and referrals to other health care providers as necessary. Support clinical research mission of the PBMT/PHO programs, including care of patients on clinical trials. Perform procedures such lumbar punctures and bone marrow biopsies, as needed. Contribute to the development, modification and interpretation of pediatric hematology/oncology/bone marrow transplant guidelines, policies, and procedures, including quality improvement activities. Engage in professional development; attend continuing education/staff development programs to maintain knowledge of current literature. Required Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner

Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner specialty certification in the State of Michigan. Current specialty certification to practice as an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Certification as a Nurse Practitioner recognized by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN). Current DEA registration required. AHA approved BLS. Two (2) or more years of clinical experience in inpatient pediatrics. Physician Assistant

Satisfactory completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC‑PA) or one of its predecessor agencies, CAHEA or CAAHEP. Certification by the National Commission on Certification for Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Michigan. State of Michigan Controlled Substance License Required. Current DEA registration required. AHA approved BLS. Two (2) or more years of clinical experience in inpatient pediatrics. Desired Qualifications

One (1) or more years of NP or PA experience in an inpatient pediatric acute care unit. One (1) or more years of clinical experience in pediatric bone marrow transplant, hematology/oncology, or immunodeficiencies. Commitment to clinical and translational research. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as measured by references and interviews. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, maintain attention to detail, and adapt to a fast‑paced environment. Demonstrated leadership in work setting and other professional activities. Work Schedule

Hours: 24 hours per week Shifts: 12.5‑hour shifts; primarily nights with rotation to days, includes weekend and holiday requirements Location: CS Mott Children’s Hospital 7 East Inpatient Unit Union Affiliation

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U‑M and the United Physician Assistants of Michigan Medicine (UPAMM), which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment. Background Screening
