Overview
We are seeking an experienced and strategic
HR Director
to lead our Human Resources function with a strong focus on
performance management systems
and
labor relations . This individual will align HR strategies with organizational goals, drive employee performance, and ensure compliance with labor laws and collective bargaining agreements. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in building performance-driven cultures and managing complex labor relations.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement robust performance management frameworks, including goal-setting, evaluations, feedback cycles, and employee development plans.
Serve as the organization’s lead on labor relations, managing union relationships, negotiations, grievances, and collective bargaining processes.
Advise senior leadership on HR strategies that drive employee engagement, talent retention, and organizational performance.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Collaborate with department heads to assess workforce needs and align talent strategies accordingly.
Design and implement training programs to build management capability in performance and labor relations.
Monitor key HR metrics (e.g., turnover, engagement, performance outcomes) and prepare regular reports for leadership.
Lead investigations and resolve employee relations issues in a fair and consistent manner.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Demonstrated expertise in
performance management
and
labor/relations .
Deep knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and labor contract administration.
Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.
