Tatte Bakery & Café – Human Resources Business Partner

Key Responsibilities
Serve as the strategic HR partner to RVPs, DMs, and Culinary Leaders in assigned market.
Drive talent planning, coaching, employee relations, and development strategies aligned to Tatte’s culture & growth goals.
Translate business objectives into HR strategies that strengthen engagement, retention, and performance.
Café Operations & Growth Support Enablement
Act as People lead for assigned market operations, including staffing stabilization, new café openings, and leadership readiness.
Partner cross‑functionally with Operations, Talent Acquisition, and Learning & Development to ensure seamless hiring, onboarding, and training.
Support bakery and catering leaders with tailored people practices while ensuring consistency with café operations.
Labor Compliance & People Operations
Maintain expert knowledge of state and local employment regulations (predictive scheduling, wage & hour, ACA, leave requirements, etc.).
Partner with Legal & Compliance teams to keep policies, manager training, and operational guardrails current.
Support leaders with investigations, documentation, coaching, and progressive discipline in line with both business and legal standards.
Team Member Engagement & Development
Partner with RVP & DMs to foster an inclusive, high‑performing culture across each café, catering and bakery team.
Coach leaders on feedback, development conversations, and performance management practices to strengthen both retention and growth.
Help design and facilitate engagement action plans based on team feedback and people insights.
Data & Insights
Use workforce analytics (turnover, staffing risk, engagement, hiring velocity, etc.) to guide strategic decisions.
Partner with leaders to identify and address talent gaps, pipeline needs, and development priorities across the market.
Qualifications & Experience
5–7+ years of progressive HR experience in multi‑unit retail, hospitality, or restaurant environments.
At least 2+ years supporting operations in one of Tatte’s core markets (Boston, DC, or Tri‑State/NYC area).
Strong knowledge of relevant state labor laws (MA, DC/MD/VA, or NY/NJ/CT depending on market).
Demonstrated ability to manage complex employee relations with sound judgment and discretion.
Experience coaching field leaders and building scalable HR practices in a growth environment.
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Hospitality, or related field; HR certification (SHRM‑CP, PHR, or above).
Spanish language proficiency (spoken and written).
Familiarity with UKG/Ultipro or similar HRIS/LMS/scheduling systems.
Proven exposure to compensation practices (wage banding, salary market reviews, pay equity) is a PLUS.
Travel Regular local travel within assigned market; occasional cross‑market travel to support enterprise needs.
