Position Summary The Investor Relations Senior Financial Analyst delivers analytical, operational, and investor‑facing support to the Investor Relations (IR) team. The role combines financial analysis, reporting, and cross‑functional coordination and plays a key role in facilitating senior leadership interactions with investors, sell‑side analysts, and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Prepare quarterly earnings and investor conference deliverables, including drafting scripts, Q&A, and presentations for senior management.

Serve as primary liaison for investors and sell‑side analysts, managing inquiries while collaborating with internal subject‑matter experts to deliver accurate and timely responses that align with the corporate narrative.

Summarize market insights and equity research for distribution to internal stakeholders, including senior management and the Board of Directors.

Monitor and benchmark peer company performance by reviewing earnings, investor events, and disclosures; deliver actionable analyses that influence Illumina’s investor messaging and shape leadership narratives.

Oversee maintenance and communication of the company’s consensus model, investor ownership changes, and peer benchmarking analyses.

Lead strategy, planning, and execution for investor‑facing events (e.g., earnings calls, conferences, investor days, roadshows, investor meetings).

Manage and analyze investor interactions, ensuring accurate documentation and delivering insights on engagement trends to senior leadership.

Oversee operational workflows for the IR team, including IR mailbox management, calendar coordination, travel planning, expense reporting, and management of shared team resources.

Identify and implement process improvements by streamlining workflows, automating tasks, and enhancing team tools.

Drive cross‑functional projects and strategic initiatives, contributing to investor strategy, C‑suite communications, and operational priorities.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of related finance experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a master’s degree; MBA preferred.

Finance background required; exposure to investor relations, equity research, or corporate finance strongly preferred.

Industry experience (life sciences, diagnostics, biotech, etc.) a plus but not required.

Familiarity with financial modeling and strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Exceptional organizational and project management skills; able to prioritize competing priorities in a high‑visibility, fast‑paced environment.

Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, INDEX/MATCH, XLOOKUP), PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.

Familiarity with investor relations and financial platforms (e.g., NASDAQ IR Insight, FactSet, Bloomberg).

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft concise, investor‑ready messaging.

Ability to operate with executive presence and tailor communication styles with diverse audiences, including leadership, investors, and external stakeholders.

Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively across functions, including frequent interactions with senior management, investors, and sell‑side analysts.

Professionalism, responsiveness, and discretion when handling confidential information.

Must be able to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time; a valid passport is required.

Compensation includes a base salary range of $96,500–$144,700 in the United States, with opportunity for variable cash programs and equity as part of the overall package.
