We’re seeking an experienced Lead Marine Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and lead the integration of advanced electrical power systems for marine applications. The role focuses on supporting innovative energy and decarbonization projects onboard vessels — including integration with complex propulsion, power distribution, and auxiliary systems. This position requires a strong foundation in marine electrical systems, familiarity with industry standards and class requirements, and proven leadership in guiding engineering teams through design, testing, and commissioning phases. Key Responsibilities

Design and develop low and medium‑voltage marine electrical systems for onboard industrial and environmental control equipment. Create one‑line diagrams, perform load and protection coordination studies, and establish grounding and bonding strategies aligned with marine regulatory standards (ABS, DNV, Lloyd’s, etc.). Prepare detailed engineering documentation — including electrical load lists, cable schedules, wiring and interconnection diagrams, and technical data sheets. Specify and select marine‑grade electrical equipment (e.g., switchboards, transformers, MCCs, UPS, and VFDs) ensuring system compatibility with vessel power infrastructure. Coordinate electrical integration between new systems and existing shipboard power distribution and propulsion networks. Conduct cable sizing, voltage drop, and thermal analysis to ensure system reliability. Develop technical specifications, installation packages, and vendor scope documents for procurement and construction teams. Support the creation of Functional Design Specifications (FDS), Interface Control Documents (ICD), and Control Philosophy documents for system interfaces. Assist with classification society submissions, addressing technical queries and documentation reviews. Develop and execute commissioning plans, testing procedures (FAT/SAT), and sea trial validation protocols. Provide leadership to the marine electrical engineering team, supporting resource planning, mentoring, and performance development aligned with organizational goals. Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Marine Engineering (Electrical). 7+ years of experience in marine or offshore electrical engineering, including newbuild or retrofit projects. Strong understanding of marine LV/MV power systems, switchboards, emergency power, and automation interfaces. Familiarity with relevant standards: IEC 60092, IEEE 45, SOLAS, IMO, ABS, and DNV. Skilled in power system analysis tools (ETAP, SKM, or equivalent). Experience with VFDs, motor starting, harmonics analysis, and EMI/EMC compliance. Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or similar CAD software, and document control systems (SharePoint, Vault). Strong communication and cross‑functional coordination skills. Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

Master’s degree in Electrical or Marine Engineering. Background in power systems for process or environmental technologies onboard vessels. Experience in decarbonization technologies (e.g., carbon capture, exhaust gas treatment, alternative fuels). Familiarity with marine automation and control systems (IAS, PLC‑based systems). Why Join
