The Health Systems Applications Manager serves as the operational lead for all governance approved electronic health record (EHR) and health system application initiatives. This role ensures that decisions made by the EHR Governance Committee are translated into actionable workflows, system builds, training programs, and adoption strategies. Acting as a bridge between the Chief Information Officer, clinical leadership, operational teams, and frontline staff, this position directs Epic module teams, supports compliance, and drives adoption of both clinical and operational applications across the health system. The role also ensures full application lifecycle management, including implementation, optimization, support, and decommissioning of legacy systems. Work Location: Corporate Admin Office Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm Travel: As Needed Duties / Responsibilities
Manage Epic Application Specialists, ensuring balanced workload and accountability. Set priorities for clinical application builds, optimizing projects and upgrades. Partner with the Chief Information Officer to align application strategy with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. Serve as the operational lead for governance approved changes, ensuring builds, workflows and training aligns with decisions made by the EHR Governance Committee. Provide regular updates to the Governance Committee on implementation status, adoption and system performance. Translate organizational priorities into executable technical and training work plans. Ensure documentation on application critical information (ACI), workflows, and policies are created and linked to governance approvals. Oversee Epic modules and related health system applications for Ambulatory, Scheduling, Dental, Patient Access, Pharmacy, Billing, and Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE). Drive optimization projects to improve provider efficiency, patient access and system adoption. Manage the legacy EHR sunset process, including migration, accounts receivable run-off, license step-down, archival and long-term retention strategies. Other task as needed. Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, biomedical informatics, healthcare administration, or a related field. Required:
Requires use of office equipment such as computer terminals, telephones and copiers. Requires normal vision and hearing. Some travel may be required. Preferred: 5 years of experience in healthcare IT or clinical systems (EHR/clinical applications). Proven leadership experience managing IT or application teams in a healthcare setting. Experience in integration and data interoperability standards. Experience working with EHR systems (Epic). Clinical experience in a CHC, FQHC, or value-based care environment. Current/valid License
