PURPOSE OF THE JOB The Process Engineering Lead is responsible for

process stability , including process control improvements, quality initiatives, identifying and solving process issues, providing technical support to the plants, and implementing productivity gains. This requires the use of process engineering skills and leading through influence in our sites. This will also include commissioning and design of capital projects. The main responsibility of the Process Engineering Lead is to collaborate with operations teams to improve and sustain stability of our shingle sites by increasing material efficiency, increasing machine uptime, and increasing process stability. This role will focus specifically on the

wrapper, palletizer, and autocatcher

areas to become the Subject Matter Expert for the Shingle sites, with a strong emphasis on

controls systems . Reports to : This position reports to the Roofing Corporate Engineering Leader. Span of Control : This position has no direct reports. The role supports all Shingle Manufacturing sites and provides coaching to Technical Leaders and site subject matter experts. Responsibilities

Living the Safety stand and adhering to safety responsibilities: educate team members on safe work processes, enforce good safety practices, communicate Owens Corning’s Safety Stand with external contractors and ensure they comply with safety standards. Wrapper, Palletizer, Autocatcher Subject Matter Expert: learn the Shingle Making process, lead projects, analyze process data, provide feedback, drive process control improvements, enable new process technologies, network with relevant groups, support commissioning of capital projects, and implement root‑cause analysis with digital tools. Support Design and Commissioning of Capital & Productivity Projects: identify and implement equipment and controls improvements, oversee design reviews, support commissioning with Capital Engineering and Productivity teams, and apply lessons learned. Coaching and Consulting: support and train site employees at all levels, serve as a Subject Matter Expert, document knowledge and share with key personnel. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered. Minimum of 3 years’ experience within a manufacturing or technical environment; heavy manufacturing in a continuous operation or paper industry highly preferred. 2+ years in process improvement/engineering role preferred. 3+ years in roofing process engineering and/or controls role preferred. Ability to travel 40–50% as needed for the role. Certification in Six Sigma (Green Belt) preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Analyze and use data to drive sustainable equipment and controls improvements. Experience with Rockwell Automation systems – drives, PLCs, HMIs, etc. preferred. Effectively manage multiple priorities or projects simultaneously. Influence without authority. Use data to establish ROI of suggestions. Effective cross‑functional teamwork and communication across all levels. Experience in Six Sigma, statistics, trial design, data analysis, and control charting. Project management experience; understand internal and external needs. Computer and software competencies; familiarity with Braincube, Aspentech, and other industrial analytics platforms preferred. Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, TPM activities preferred. The base salary range for this position is $89,000–$125,000 with potential additional pay for related qualifications.
